Full Steam Ahead

Sat 8 June

Fantastic fun morning at Full Steam Ahead! And great to see almost as many children as adults. Start them young!

Our smart guard blew his whistle and waved his flag to start the run for us 😀 toot toot! 🚂🚂 and then they were off across the tracks along the platform through the woods and round the meadows of Havenstreet Station - a fun but challenging 5k for the adults, 1k for the children. And a lovely medal and goody bag for everyone with a free train ticket for everyone to enjoy another day.

Plod the Prom for Walk the Wight!

Shouting out a big Well Done  to our Prom Plodders. This was our second year for this event and we had a wonderful turnout of 30 people aged 1-94! They walked, cycled or ran round the Prom and raised a wonderful £240 for the Mountbatten Hospice. They all got a lovely medal and celebrated with tea and cake afterwards! Fun and Fitness!

Fabfit Caribbean Christmas

Saturday 1 December 2018

Some of my Fabfit group just before we started our Caribbean Christmas fun day. What a laugh! Fun songs about sunny summer days and all of us dressed for the beach! Then we enjoyed a lovely lunch afterwards thanks to the amazing kitchen team Heather Whitchurch and Cherry Scudder. Thanks ladies!

AUTUMN AMBLE ~ Sat 29 Sept  2018

What a lovely sunny day for our Autumn Amble!

We were raising money for Shanklin Age Concern to help support the great work they are doing.

On Saturday morning 29 people aged 4 – 97 years walked from Shanklin to Sandown proving that you are never too young or too old to enjoy walking! Walking is an often forgotten form of exercise, but it’s natural, safe and good for us!

At the finish they were presented with a lovely medal in autumn colours and enjoyed tea and cake in the Boardwalk Café on Sandown Pier.

Altogether  we raised £190 - not a bad morning’s work!

GO TRI - 14 JULY 2018 -MY FIRST EVER TRIATHLON!!

West Wight organised a brilliant event called GO TRI for all those who had never tried a triathlon but wanted to have a go. It was fun and friendly with about 80 of us all doing a triathlon for the first time.

We had to SWIM 200m, CYCLE 9K and RUN 2K.  It doesn't sound too hard but it was surprisingly difficult and tiring doing three very different sports one after the other. But it was an amazing experience and definitely something I want to do again!

Dash and Splash!

Sunday 8 July at 1pm

This is such a fun event. A  run along the beach and in and out of the sea around the groynes. It was a boiling hot day so we were glad to get in the water! Here's me and my daughter Josie enjoying the it. We had just come out of the sea  - you can just spot others behind us still wading through the water!
